Windows Embedded Standard 2009 Released

Microsoft released to manufacturing (RTM) of Windows Embedded Standard 2009, the next generation of Windows XP Embedded, on October 7, 2008. Windows Embedded Standard offers the performance, familiarity, and reliability of the Windows operating system in the form of components, to help device manufacturers easily connected intelligent devices that rich applications, services and end-user experience.

With the technologies that connect to many common standards for the industry in addition to a number of Microsoft desktop and server technology to reduce costs in the development of applications, operating system deployment, maintenance and servicing. With Windows Embedded Standard, developers have access to a mature technology portfolio of specific instruments employed in the home environment of Visual Studio developers that enables them to quickly configure, build and deploy security devices with greater reliability and manageability.

Microsoft has just rolled a new embedded operating system known as Windows Embedded Standard 2009 (WES 2009) for x86-based devices for manufacturers of the products. What WES 2009 is not merge the two code of Windows XP with updates of new versions of Internet Explorer, RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), Windows Media Player and .NET. Additional features include WEP 2009:-

  • Internet Explorer 7
  • Windows Media Player 11
  • Silverlight
  • .NET Framework 3.5 programming foundation
  • Remote Desktop Protocol version 6.1
  • "Componentized" drivers for Intel's latest x86 processor architectures
