Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 smartphone has almost everything you'd need, and is supposed to be a strong statement that the developer is a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. But while the potential is certainly there, there are glaring misses in the execution.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 contains many features previously unseen in Sony Ericsson mobiles. Their earlier products in the smartphone segment have featured limited new ideas and have been tainted by the slow, somewhat illogical UIQ interface.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 also has other wonderful functions like its built-in document readers and editors, its handwriting recognition attribute and flight mode. Like other mobile phones, the SE XPERIA X1 is also equipped with an organizer for its alarm clock, calendar and calculator; along with its phone book, notes and tasks features. The convenience this offers would be the fact that you can set alarms for your appointments or significant dates, you can take note of vital matters and you can store a lot of important phone numbers. You can basically leave home with only the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 at hand.

The X1 has certainly been one of the hot products of GSMA, as evidenced by the number of people swarming around the phone at the Sony Ericsson booth. I'm hoping to shove my way in there today to get some hands-on time and photos of the device, so hold tight. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is scheduled to ship during the second half of 2008. Not to sound like a broken record, but there is still no word on pricing or U.S. availability.
